About Our Brighton Plumbers
Brighton plumbers hold three separate Queensland licences between them: plumbing, drainage and gas work. Every job is done by a licensed plumber, and we work under QBCC No: 15024607. This page sets out what those licences cover, who checks the work, and how a visit runs.

Plumber, Drainer and Gasfitter Licences Explained
Queensland licences the person and the business separately. The tradesperson holds an occupational licence proving skill in plumbing and drainage. The business running the job holds a contractor licence proving financial capacity and business training.
Each class of work then sits on its own licence:
Plumber
covers the water-side work above ground, excluding jobs with their own endorsement.
Drainer
covers the below-ground drainage, apart from anything needing an endorsement of its own.
Gasfitter
only a licensed gasfitter may install, remove, alter, repair, service, test or certify a gas system and its pipework.
Before gas work begins, you are entitled to sight that licence.

How Plumbing Work Is Regulated in Queensland
The QBCC and the City of Brisbane split the oversight. The QBCC licenses trades, keeps the notifiable work register and investigates unlicensed jobs. The council assesses applications, issues permits and carries out inspections.
Regulated plumbing and drainage work falls into permit work, notifiable work and minor work, and only a licence holder may do any of the three. The QBCC's guidance says a licensed trade protects the property, the owner's health and the owner's rights.
Paperwork reaches you at the end:
Form 4
notifiable work closes with a Form 4, and you receive a copy. If none turns up, you can request one from the QBCC.
Gas system compliance certificate
gas work on a new installation or alteration ends with the certificate handed over straight away. Where a network feeds the system, a copy reaches the network operator within 5 days.
An owner can also request a council inspection of notifiable work whenever they like. The QBCC's online registers let you search both a plumber's licence and the work lodged for an address.
What You Can Expect When We Visit
- 1

You describe the fault
Ring (07) 3523 6484 or use the form. A rough description helps the right gear travel on the first trip.
- 2

We diagnose on site
The plumber checks the fixture, the supply line behind it and whatever the symptoms point to. Find the fault before pricing the fix, whether the job is one washer or a whole new run.
- 3

Quote, then the work
We give you a fixed quote before any work starts, with flat-rate pricing and no hidden fees. Nothing happens until you approve it.
- 4

Test and hand over
We test what we have done and pass on the records, including the Form 4 or gas certificate where the job needs one. Card and EFTPOS payment on site settles it, or Fix now, pay later.

Questions About Our Licences
Call (07) 3523 6484Does gas work in a Brighton home need a separate licence?
Yes, gas work is a class of its own, and Queensland allows only a licensed gasfitter to install, alter, repair, service or certify a gas system. Ask to sight the gas work licence before the job starts.
Who inspects plumbing work in my home?
The City of Brisbane issues permits and inspects, and the QBCC handles licensing. You can request a council inspection of notifiable work at any stage, and the QBCC's registers show the work lodged for your address.
What does QBCC licensed mean for my plumbing job?
QBCC licensed means the Queensland Building and Construction Commission has issued the licences behind the job. The person on the tools holds one licence class and the business taking the work on holds another. Our number is QBCC No: 15024607.
Which suburbs around Brighton does the team work in?
Our run takes in the suburbs next door, and Bald Hills and Bracken Ridge have their own pages. Every suburb on the run is listed on our areas page, so ring (07) 3523 6484 to check yours.
